The United States Army Quartermaster Museum is located on a military installation, Fort Lee, Virginia. Visitors to our installation are subject to force protection procedures. When visiting our post, you must present a photo identification to gate personnel and identify your destination. We appreciate your cooperation.  For more information see the Fort Lee Website.

Admission: FREE, but donations are accepted.  Your generosity directly contributes to the operation of this museum.

  • Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

  • Weekends, 11:00 am - 5:00 pm

  • Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day

    Location: Building 5218, A Avenue & 22nd Street, Fort Lee, Virginia. The museum is 5 miles east of Petersburg, Virginia.  It is two miles east of I-95 (Wythe Street exit) on State Highway 36 and three miles west of I-295 (Fort Lee exit).  This route is well signed and access to the post is open.   Ample parking is available adjacent to the museum.

    The museum's location at Fort Lee puts it in close proximity to several historic Civil War battlefields and sites.  The closest is the Petersburg National Battlefield Park whose visitor center is on State Highway 36 only 1/4 mile west of the Fort Lee main gate.  This battlefield is the site of the Civil War's longest siege.   Fort Lee is 23 miles south of Richmond, VA and 53 miles west of historic Williamsburg, VA.

    From I-95 South from Arlington, VA
    Proceed south on I-95 merging onto I-295 S via exit number 84A- on the left- toward ROCKY MT NC.

    Proceed on I-295 South onto VA-36 W/OAKLAWN BLVD via exit number 9B toward FORT LEE/COLONIAL HEIGHTS.

    Go to the fourth traffic light and turn left at the Lee Avenue Gate. Get immediately in the right hand lane and park in the Welcome Center parking lot.
    Approximate Travel Time - 2 hours, 17 minutes

    From I-95 North from Rocky Mount, NC
    Proceed north on I-95 merging onto I-295 N via exit number 46 toward WASHINGTON.

    Proceed on I-295 North onto VA-36 W/OAKLAWN BLVD via exit number 9B toward FORT LEE/COLONIAL HEIGHTS.

    Go to the fourth traffic light and turn left at the Lee Avenue Gate. Get immediately in the right hand lane and park in the Welcome Center parking lot.
    Approximate Travel Time - 1 hour, 55 minutes

    From I-64 East from Charlottesville, VA
    Proceed east on I-64 merging onto I-295 S via exit number 177 toward WASHINGTON/NORFOLK.

    Proceed on I-295 South onto VA-36 W/OAKLAWN BLVD via exit number 9B toward FORT LEE/COLONIAL HEIGHTS..

    Go to the fourth traffic light and turn left at the Lee Avenue Gate. Get immediately in the right hand lane and park in the Welcome Center parking lot.
    Approximate Travel Time - 1 hour, 51 minute

    From I-64 West from Virginia Beach, VA
    Proceed west on I-64 merging onto I-295 S/US-60 exit- exit number 200- toward ROCKY MT NC

    Merge onto I-295 S via the exit- on the left- toward BOTTOMS BR.

    Proceed on I-295 South onto VA-36 W/OAKLAWN BLVD via exit number 9B toward FORT LEE/COLONIAL HEIGHTS..

    Go to the fourth traffic light and turn left at the Lee Avenue Gate. Get immediately in the right hand lane and park in the Welcome Center parking lot.
